高知県物部村における林野火災の実態と復旧に伴う回復過程に関する研究

Research on the Actual Condition of the Forest Fire Disaster in Monobe Village, Kochi Prefecture and its Reforestation Process

Abstract

The forest fire in Monobe village that occurred on 18th April, 1993 caused serious damage to forestry activities. Through this disaster it was suggested on the newspaper that a broad leaved tree provides protection against fire and its incombustibility is well worth consideration in future reforestation works. This research has two purposes. One is to summarize the actual condition of forest fire and to ascertain the truth of the above suggestion. The other is to analyze the influence of forest fire on the vegetation vigor and to verify the progress of reforestation works, using the combined methodology of remote sensing and geographic information system(GIS). It was revealed that the influence of forest fire was more serious than visible conditions and the remote sensing technique used in this research was effective in analyzing the process of restoration.
