Abstract
@This paper describes an improvement method of the snow damage estimation previously defined in Part II: the annual amount of snow damage H had been defined as H=kE+E", and where kE is the annual benefit-decrease, E" the excess expense due to snow and k is the annual mean factor of seasonal drop of utilization. The improved method due to some improvement of calculation of k and E" was applied to the urban area of Tokamachi City and compared with the amount by before method and with the amount on Nagaoka City shown in Part II. The annual amount of snow damage on the 0.29 km2 urban area of Tokamachi City using improved method is 2.4 billion yen/year in a snow abundance year and is 7 % greater than the amount using before method. Areal amount of snow damage in the year of snow abundance, 1274 yen/m2/y, is 20% greater than the amount for Nagaoka City. The ratio between kE and E" for Tokamachi and Nagaoka are 4:6 and 7:3 respectively because of much amount of snowfall and low land value in Tokamachi City. Comparing the amounts divided by cumulative daily snowfall depth TF for two cities, the value of E"/ TF for Tokamachi City is twice as great as the value for Nagaoka City. It is concluded Tokamachi City has higher level of snow removing than Nagaoka City.
